Aside from two days of All Points West and seeing The Police in August, I'll hopefully be seeing The Mars Volta for the third time at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, September 14th. Its a tiny-ass venue, plus the fact that I'll probably buy seats from like the 4th or 5th row means it should hopefully sweet (my last 2 Volta experiences sucked in different ways). Can any Bostonians attest to the acoustics at that place?

It's a terribly old venue and is pretty much falling apart inside. I'm not sure if that means the acoustics suck but I've heard they do.

mmm the orpheum's actually quite large. i saw dcfc and the decemberists there each at the (then) height of their popularities. i don't remember anything about the sound, but prepare for the most uncomfortable seat you'll ever be unlucky enough to sit in...and for you, that means probably 3 hours if you're seeing TMV. have fun!

Well, it's not the NEXT show, but I saw Panic at the Disco at the Honda Center last night. My buddy's stepmom's box seats. It was SWEEEEEEEEEET!

for anyone who cares, battles is awesome as fuck live. they are extremely tight considering the amount of different shit they have going on at once, the amount of multitasking going on. and they are one of those bands that you can enjoy immensely even without ever having heard them.
