alright once again i have a problem and need the master help of Lori or Kyle..

every so often when i open iTunes all of my music is missing and all of my preferences/settings are reset. This happens about once every few days.

How do i stop this?
Bobby
Okay, so I got this new iTunes and now my music is all scratchy and skips a lot. I play the same song in WMP and it's perfect, is something wrong with my equalizer or does iTunes 7 just suck on my computer? And how can I get the old iTunes back now, because I don't want this skipping shit all the time.

a few songs of mine (namely "sleepers") are also sounding funny... almost like intermittant fuzz on the background of the track.

funnily enough, it doesn't sound as bad when i plug in headphones

also, on my nano... "come close" SKIPS. in different places each time, but never fails.

any hints to fix either problem?
Bobby
On iTunes for sleepers, try changing your equalizer from flat to something else. That solved my skipping and fuzz.
tns
check out the comments within the digg article posted up there -- some users complaining of static tried turning up the sound on itunes to max and using the computer's volume instead.

also, they said turning off the sound enhancer did it (preferences, playback, sound enhancer)
sammy
yeah i read a lot of comments but a ton of those people were using windows which threw me off.
i'm going to play around with it when i don't have a quiz in the morning.
dingo
I've finaly got the mac that i ordered weeks ago, fuck yeah.
B
So I'm going to be slowly saving up for a mac.
Saving all birthday, and holiday money, and whatnot.
Seeing as how I'm going to be trying to go back to school full time, it will take longer for me to get one.
I'm hoping to get one by the start of 07.

Does anyone else have to add one song at a time when adding music from extracted albums on itunes 7? Before I could select all the songs at the same time and add them, but when I do that it doesn't even add the songs.
namernj
wtf is this new gapless thing in iTunes 7. dammit i hate this new version so much.
tgrokz
the gapless shit is fucking amazing. its sooo good. and it uppdates your ipod to be gapless.
namernj
idk what gapless even is. all i know is that it now takes longer to update my ipod.
tgrokz
lets say you have a cd where the transitions are smooth from song to song. the old itunes would have a half second gap between songs, making it not smooth and awkward sounding, so they took care of that.
Bobby
All I know is that I have to keep changing something in my Quicktime from 16 to 8 because iTunes 7 sucks.

This happens to me when I try to add album artwork. I have to copy and then paste one at a time.

Oh, and hopefully someone can help me out with this. I plugged in my iPod and it told me there was an update. When I click install, I get an "unknown error (1417)" saying the ipod can't be updated. I checked the Apple site and tried resetting it, but no help. Any ideas?

Yeah.

iTunes 7 does have alot of problems. I guess they wanted to get it out there with all the other releases, but didn't fix every bug.
But what app isn't bugless.

The iPod update problem...keep trying and trying and trying and trying. I've tried at least 30 times before it finally worked.

and the adding songs to the library yeah...thats odd.
Try "adding folder to library."
Nicholas
Apparently updating to itunes 7 for pc users sucks. All of my roomates have been pissed off about it. I just laugh at them and say "well if you had a mac...."
john doe coolsauce
im pretty sure ive brought this up before but ive finally got rid of my laziness and actually started up my vaio, i want to unregister my ipod from that computer and register it to my macbook pro. ive been using my macbook pro to import music into it but its never been registered to it so i cant get the upgrades for the ipod.

You must be so happy.

How are the new earbuds?
Kyle
i love them, they fit perfectly into my ears. better than the old ones for sure.

and yeah, i'm stoked. it's so weird having an ipod bigger than my internal

oh yeha, it's also insanely bright. search rules too. it's definitely worth the money.
Kid.
Jesus, Kyle. Where do you get the money to buy all this shit?
alex.
do you have 80gb worth of music? i think i want to get a 80gb to load all of my music, plus videos, and photos. my 30gb is almost out of room.
Lori
I have a 250 gig external harddrive and I don't listen to all my 10 gigs of music.

I guess I suck at coming up for a reason to buy an 80 gig.
B-ryon
i wish they made a portable player that i could fit all my music on..

i wish i had enough music to make subliminal braggy posts

I wish me and Russ were related so that we could ditch family reunions and go on wacky adventures.

I wish Lori visited America and got mugged at the Apple flagship store by Keith Buckley.

i have 65 gb of music and a 60 gb ipod photo. so i think i'm gonna buy the 80 gb around the holiday season when they either decrease in price or come out with something better.
Kyle
Here's something to ponder. Apple has sold their most expensive iPod (the 60 gb photo that namernj has) for $599. Right now the most expensive iPod is at $350. I am seeing some type of higher model iPod in the near future (mid to end october-ish).

was it really that expensive? i paid like 300 because best buy made a mistake...

i originally had a 20 gb 4G ipod. then i bought the best buy warranty with it. then it broke and i brought it into best buy. best buy sent me back someone elses ipod which was practically fried (physically burnt) and accidentally sent my ipod to california. i complained and about a month later they gave me a 60 gb ipod photo to compensate.
