I've finally decided...I'm buying a 160 now, and an iPhone when I get to Australia. The problem is, they don't offer the iPhone down under yet...hopefully when the 2nd gen comes out, I'll be able to buy one in Sydney.

It's kind of gross that I payed more for my 20 gig ipod 2 and some years ago then I will be for my 160 gig. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself, thats more space than my laptop has.

edit: yeah they are. $70 bucks a month is insane. even the family plan (which is what i would get) is $110 a month. I wanna get a new phone sometime soon...I'm thinking about the Blackjack or the SYNC now that the iPhone is out of the question.

Whose giving away free iphones? iphonesimfree says they are willing to unlock existing iphones for free for press sites presumably to hype up their service beyond the few outlets they have already shown it too.

theres a method which requires opening the device and shorting two points, which as i recall is in order to effectively shift the address which the phone checks, or something to that extent. Iphonesimfree's is the only 'software only' method but they want to make cash instead of sharing so who knows. It's been confirmed as legit though

from how I understand it now, iphonesimfree is going to give resellers an admin panel on which they can authorize however many IMEI's they paid for to unlock, and you run the iphonesimfree app on your iphone. The app checks with their server to see whether your iphone's IMEI is authorized for an unlock, and if it is it does its thing, if not then it tells you that you aren't. With any luck someone will figure out what they do to unlock and put out a free method
