So i recently got an ipod video and every time i upload a video into itunes it plays fine until i convert it... then it loses the audio, this happens with both mine and my brother's ipod.
BUT i added the stonghold seven years clip which is a mov file and works fine.
All of the other videos are mpg/ mpeg will ipods not play this file?
Please help

Aug 25 2006, 11:30 AM

Lori

Well,
I'd go about it this way: order it with your student discount with the larger harddrive,
then get a gig of ram from a store of your choice.
nothing else needed.

K so my iPod is really fucked up.
The other day it wouldn't turn off. I held down the pause button, hit the sleep button, and just let it sit and it never turned off and it died. I plugged it in and I get the battery symbol and like 1/4 of it is "filled" and its not moving. From time to time the symbol that says your battery is dead will come up. I plugged it into my computer and it isn't reading it but it still looks like it is somewhat charging, but it isn't. I tried to reset it and it didn't work. HELP ME!!!

Did you try turning it off right after you unplugged it from your pc?
It wont turn off right away.
Give it at least an honest minute before trying to turn it off.
Rather than resetting, reformat it.
Unless thats what you meant?
How old is your iPod?

I'll try giving it a mintue and yada yada yada.
I can't reformat it. My computer isn't recognizing that my iPod is plugged in.
Its pretty new. Its a 30 GB video iPod I got it early this year. I have a 3 year warranty on it, and it comes with a one year warranty I'm pretty sure. It might be time to use it.

If your three year is from Best Buy, I strongly advise you to make use of the one year Apple warranty, for now. I had to send my iPod in twice earlier this year (with my three year Best Buy warranty), and it took roughly five weeks each time. If it's not a Best Buy warranty, ignore this.

Delete the tracks and reload them from your iTunes. Stop buying the earphones.

playing music past a certain point, literally will ruin the song, let alone the actual speaker or headphone. music wasn't ment to be loud. playing it that loud ruins the space and wideness of a mix. you get digital distortion, and overall, the levels will come off as fucked up. thats why most mastering is becommnig a big joke recently, because all the common mastering practices these days just seem to be limiting and adding gain for "power". if you want to really listen to music for the sake of LISTENING, then you wont blast it. not to mention the fucked up damage it does to your ears.
and if you really want to listen to music, get yourself a good pair of cans. i have a pair of AKG k271s and the are amazing. not only is the quality amazing, but they are closed back and are great for isolation. i use them for tracking and some mixing, so its a tad unnecessary for people to get them if you dnt need it for that, but you can get some incredible headphones for $70 or so.
Kid.

I blast mine all the time. I dont have a choice when I'm working and using loud equipment.
I just made a post not too long ago about me blowing my iPod headphones on the circa boards. Like two days ago.
With all this talk, I thought I posted it here for a minute.

yeah i blasted my apple earbuds for a good few months(due to the fact there is more than 3k kids in the highschool, and they already have music playing in the hallways), and they werent even new. but then they started getting static and i was one of the few people in the school to make an apple earbud go completely out, usually they just fizz/buzz to the worst possible extent.
i went to target and bought white sony earbuds for 10 bucks and they do just fine
edit: worst use of grammar ever.

Last night I connected my ipod to my computer to put a video on it and it erased all my songs. It erased them before I even put the video on. I pluged it in and the songs were gone. The problem is that the ipod still thinks the songs are there and says I only have 5 gb of space left. Now instead of a 30 gb ipod, I have a 5 gb ipod.
Has this ever happened to anyone and can it be fixed?
