So I have a speech I have to write that explains why people in the U.S. 18+ should vote. I'm fine with essays, but I've never really written a speech. I'll thank you for any suggestions on structure and the sort. Also, if anyone could give me some information and/or ideas on the subject, I'd really appreciate it.

i'm not down with voting.

Yeah the only pro-voting thing is that politicians are too gay to make the decisions themselves.

I'm a convicted felon so no-go for me, sorry.
As for the structure. Think of your audience and write accordingly (as far as the main points go).
Basically write an essay and then create an outline of it (or skip the essay) and then speak on each point of the outline.

I was thinking about two different things when i wrote that, like...two opposing sentances in one, and i just reread it and it really didn't make sense.
My bad.
I forgot what it was supposed to mean anyway.

the only good thing about voting is knowing that the politicians are gay which make them impaired to making decisions?

I don't even know.

Thanks for all the input so far guys.
So since I'm 16, voting isn't really on my agenda either. I don't even vote in school elections.

But it's not about whether or not any of us would, I just need some suitable ideas that would support the topic, whether it's what you really believe or not. Anyone have good arguments on the subject?

Voting is a right that our forefathers fought for, so if people don't vote, why even have elections. WE NEED TO VOTE.

this is the same argument my mom gives me every time.
i say, i don't know shit about the issues being raised, and i'm too apathetic to delve into them, so why would i just vote uninformed?
The Platypus
Mar 23 2006, 01:13 PM
Well obviously you shouldn't vote if you are uninformed. Don't let your parents pressure you into voting just because they think they are right.
