Yeah the 31st pick. And good luck getting a decent QB that late in the 1st round...

Even if it's a guy that they can develop through out a couple of years, that'd be good.

how many of you guys are cheese heads?

my best friend is from wisconsin, so hes big into them

however, im a steelers fan, and they had an impressive draft until they traded to get A PUNTER. DAMMIT TOMLIN GET YOUR HEAD STRAIGHT.

although, they said everyone has trouble catching his punts since hes left footed and puts some awkward spin on the ball. Im praying they dont switch to cover-2 or 4-3, cause id hate to see them lose the whole blitzburgh ordeal. Maybe theyll start running some schemes similar to baltimore...they picked up that DE from Michigan (who they said could play a LB too...adalius thomas like) and the florida linebacker.

if they acquire any new recievers i pray its a tall guy. That being said, them and the patriots are the only two teams I see as powerhouses in the AFC. Now that Baltimore has started to suffer on the defensive end, their offense might struggle to keep up...cincinatti is cincinatti (never going to do anything big...maybe get to the playoffs)...and the colts lost some defensive depth which is gonna kill them when their offense cant generate 28.

Turn around teams: dolphins, cardinals, panthers (i put the steelers 8-8 on the bike wreck...they finished out 6-2 so i dont think they need to turn around).

Its hilarious hearing the people in charlotte argue over keyshawn when they never really even used him when they should have. The panthers will forever make sacrifices for smith.

i agree with everything you said, the only different thing is GO BRONCOS, they are always a decent or above average team (usually make it to the playoffs). hopefully the DE they picked up will help....they need a quick DL to make up for the lack of sacks last year.

You don't think the Falcons will be improved this year? Or are you just not allowed to speak such blasphemy living in Carolina?
beloved_kid
atlanta will be better, but they still dont have that special something to get them deep into the playoffs

DEFENSE!!!

You know actually they went to the NFC championship game just 3 yrs ago with equal or lesser talent than this years squad.
beloved_kid
did you know that the nfc doesnt count

Seems to be irrelevant these days. This is true. Kind of like the NBA East.

they signed chris leak after the draft

i cant believe nobody picked him after he won a national championship. He played for Independence (national powerhouse in charlotte...had won 100 straight games at one point) and won 4 championships in hs. Ive seen this guy play, hell probably take grossmans spot.
-chris-
Chris Leak is good, but there were definitely better QBs available with that 31st pick.

Yes, I'm certain they're going 16-0 for sure. Give me a break man. Seems like the citizens would have more important things to do down there than acting arrogant as fuck about their bullshit football team.

The Saints first rounder (Robert Meachem) came into camp 20 lbs overweight, and your defense ain't special. The Saints are very beatable.

the steelers play them in the hall of fame game, well see how this turns out. They beat them last year, and Im pretty sure the saints are gonna have trouble if they cant fix that defense and strengthen the recieving core. The panthers won't suck forever, ya know.

marques colston came to camp in bad shape last season too, and he worked out more than pretty well. and defensively, we added jason david, 3 year starting corner back with the colts, and drafted cb usama young. we signed brian simmons, linebacker from the bengals, and we retained charles grant, one of the best ends in the league. and roman harper, second year safety is coming back from a knee injury.

we've tightened up, but i agree, we still need a little work defensively, another quality lb and db would work wonders.

i think we're set at receiver. marques colston was the best rookie last year, if he hadn't been hurt for those couple of games, he woulda caught 90+ passes easily. devery henderson and terrance copper together caught 55 balls. we signed david patten, he won a couple championships with the patriots. plus, we can just put reggie out there if we need to, he caught 88 last season.

and imo, we should just give new england the trophy right now

But the question about Meachem going into the draft was his work ethic. A lot of people had him pegged as a very lazy receiver, didn't run tight routes, could turn it on, but selectively. I liek the Young pick, and I think he'll surprise a lot of people for someone who didn't get invited to the NFL combine, but for an college corner to develop into an NFL corner, well, lets just say there's a slight learning curve. Jason David is a nickel corner at best and Simmons is aging. But I will agree with you, Charles Grant is probably the best DE who's not wearing a Panthers or Giants jersey.

I just don't get how Sean Peyton sucked ass as the OC for the Giants(If you recall, he got his playcalling duties taken away from him by Jim Fassel while part of the Giants), but you guys get em, and bam, he's coach of the year material. But I'll admit it, no one deserves it more than the NO fans. I'm just saying, you guys play in the NFC, that just inflates your record.
-chris-
I honestly don't think the Saints will be as good as they were last year. A lot of the NFC teams should have better years than last, so I think it's going to be tough for the Saints to make the playoffs. The NFC East and South, I think are going to be pretty wide open, and the West could be. The North is the only division I think is set, with the Bears taking it again.
Conor.
Lets be honest here, we all know that the Pats are winning the superbowl this year.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if all those big named FA signings come back to bite em in the ass. The Pats, The Colts, The Eagles, The Steelers, all have had the same game plan for years about FA and the draft. You build through the draft, and get stop-gaps and back ups via FA, if any activity at all. They have faith in their system, and their scouts, and build from within. The Patriots specifically, have showed that any player that is put into their system will succeed, because Bellichek doesn't ask his players to do things they can't do. He puts them in position to take advantage of their skills, and hide their weak points. I think them straying from the plan could be the dynasty's downfall.

That being said, boy do the Pats look sick on paper.
Conor.

Well said, I agree its not set in stone, and im not trying to be a douchebag. haha but yes the pats look ill on paper. Randy Moss will succeed in NE however for three reasons. One, He is coming off a rough year and he has too much pride to let that happen again. HE HAS SOMETHING TO PROVE. Two, he is way more mature and humble than when he first entered the league. HE CAME FOR A RING. Three, Bellichek won't let anything happen, if such does occur expect Moss to be benched for the season immediately. Bellichek won't fool around like Andy Reid with T.O.

P.S. The Golden Boy is at the Helm. PATS FTW!

haha i have an awful thing to concur with your statement that he couldnt swim, but ill just leave it at that because its not exactly appropiate. Yeah the girl he fell off with survived because she clinged to something in the water.

he died in pontchatrain lake, which has some crazy currents. he got caught in the current and it dragged him under.

EDIT: "The two ended up falling off of the water craft in an area of swirling currents near where a major shipping canal runs into the lake. While the woman survived by grabbing onto a pylon until she was rescued, authorities said, the 24-year-old Hill, who friends described as a good swimmer, drifted away and disappeared until searchers pulled his body from the water on Monday afternoon."
