For some reason there was no thread about the band.

QUOTE(XThriceX from the unofficial Thrice boards)
Yesterday Converge began tracking their next album for Epitaph Records. The group, with the guidance of guitarist Kurt Ballou, is engineering and producing the effort themselves. According to the band, "No need to bring anyone else in, not when we have the ability to collectively create the album we artistically envision.

The album will consist of roughly thirteen songs, of which the band states, "These songs are a freight train, to us sounding larger and harder than any of our previous efforts.

It has a few good songs, but as a whole, I didn't like it very much.

So, because of their claims about this upcoming release, I'm very excited. (Shouldn't be any acoustic songs).
marchofflames
I own all their releases.
they are by far my favorite grindcore/metal/whatevercore they are band ever.
They are the ones who got me into HEAVY music.
This new cd will not be a letdown. some kids say you fail me was a letdown but its ssooooo solid.
Way pumped for this.
the end.

next to petitioning, i think You Fail Me was their best material theyve ever done. This cd will rule because it is Converge and if theres one band you can count on to put out something unlike anyone else, its Converge.
marchofflames
I own every album they have.
Not a big fan of You Fail Me although i think it has its strong spots.
I have HUGE expectations for this record and i really dont think i will be dissapointed.

Your opinion is wrong.

No, but seriously, how can you like YFM more than Jane Doe?

Seriously. Jane Doe was a fucking masterpiece.
namernj
I'm so excited for this album.

the only problem is nothing they ever do will EVER top Jane Doe.

and did Bannon do the artwork again, it definitely looks like his work.
lambchopthis
Yeah, he did the artwork. This album is gonna be sweet.
HeadBurstsOpen
Hopefully the songs are short, in your face, explogasm...yeah.
canadapantsman
i love Jane Doe mucho, but i love Converge's more artsy records more, and there is nothing ive heard as unique and original as You Fail Me. Theres seriously no other record ive heard with that kind of production or variety of songwriting that actually fits

Converge - No Heroes (to be released 10/24/2006)

IPB Image

Converge’s new full-length album No Heroes will hit stores everywhere on Oct. 24. A masterpiece of raw emotion and adrenaline frenzy, No Heroes brilliantly combines the textural sonics of You Fail Me with the brutal assault of Jane Doe. The intensity of opening track "Heartache" will simply peel the paint from the walls. You will have to wait for the full assault, but check back to this page often, because we will be posting mp3's to satiate the obsessed. In the mean time, feel the weight of Jake Bannon's visual genius.
