That movie "Click" is one of the most moving films ive ever seen.
I'm being serious.
It was funny at some parts but for the most part the movie was so sad and such.
i loved it.

(it was so life changing because it shows what happens if you dont stop and pay attention to your life)

as for songs
The Heretic by TSOAF is pretty epic
and so is Superman by TREOS

(the way the song played basically gives me chills)

anything else people want to share?
suggestions?
Robert Hamburger
I think it would be good to explain why you think the songs are epic or how they will change your life to make this thread worth reading.
patrick.
"The Widow" by As Cities Burn

edit: I think because it describes flaws of character and how God still accepts us. I'm not very religious but I still find this song pretty moving.

i feel like someone is going to give me shit for this, but i'll have to say Vanilla Sky is that movie for me. just because every single time i watch it, i somehow see it from a different angle, and realize different implications of the events. plus it raises interesting questions in my mind about the main character and people in general.
Arie
just for me but the Matrix Trilogy has changed a lot for me... I know this isn't everyone's opinion, but all the stuff about believing and trusting just made me think a lot.

Superman is a cover. Originally by the Stereophonics. The lyrics are awful, but the music is pretty good. I just can't get past, "Superman on a aeroplane/ sitting next to Lois Lane/ "

I'll throw in my two cents and recommend Richard Linklater's Before Sunrise (1994) and Before Sunset (2005). The former basically makes you feel as though you're falling in love, and the latter is like living through an entire relationship. To me, those movies epitomize everything about how moving film can be and are really modern masterpieces. If you're single and depressed as I often am, I really recommend both movies (in backwards order) to show you why you want to find someone. If you're already in a relationship, watch them to appreciate it. I can't recommend them enough.

I agree with Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. Simply amazing movies.

requiem for a dream. and mookies last christmas (i wasgoing through some shit at the time, and this song just made perfect sense to me)
mark.
I think that pretty much the entire As Cities Burn record is so epic and moving. The lyrics are so outstanding and they really give an amazing look at Christ's love and how most people just shut him out and only show love for Him when we're in despair. They sing of how everyone should love Christ unconditionally, not just when they're running into hard times.
chino
it is an amazing album
Chaz
Here we go again (acoustic) - Paramore

Not anything epic about it, it just gives me a feel good kind of feeling.

Whether you are aware of racism and stereotypes, this movie really opens your eyes to things going on.

The Godfather part I and II, because they are so damn good and interesting on many levels.

and for epic songs, probably the whole album Alaska by BTBAM or Jane Doe by Converge due to their valuable and amazingly unique content. I'd also say Jimmy Eat World's Clarity and Save the Day's Stay what You are for a lot of highschool memories and summer memories.
SPACE GHOST
Forrest Gump.
mark.
Forrest Gump was definitely an incredible movie.
Sound of Liberation
Goodwill Hunting

I really loved The Notebook, but I have been married for almost 5 years and know what it means to have a real relationship so I'm sure that some of you won't understand where I am coming from on this one. But just trust me, it is a great movie.
NightPride911
I had absolutely no idea that you were married. Have any children yet?

I know you mean well.

But in the defense of the children..

Are you saying life with children is... NO LIFE AT ALL? lol

I'll reply for you.... "Pretty much".

To KID:

Come on man, Selena? That was a fucking awesome movie back in like 1997. Shit moved me.. Ooo when J. Lo drops the rose at the end of the movie.. It just tickles my butthole in all the right ways.
chino
haha yeah man...

we just want to be able to go out and do things w/o the worry of having to find a babysitter and all that. we are coming up on a time in our lives where we should be kind of well off financially so we want to enjoy that a little bit as a couple for a while. i definitely want to have at least one kid someday. everything just needs to be in order before we take such a huge step.

i totally agree. just saw it last night and i have to admit, i got a little teary eyed.
ben
Why don't you fucks watch "It's a Wonderful Life". That movie is actually good, doesn't star that fucking sap adam sandler, and is the movie Click basically ripped off.

FUCK YOU CLICK.
suspense
Fight Club
Office Space
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind

And I know you guys arn't really into it, but the Blink 182 ST and the Box Car Racer CD had huge impacts on me.
Lucas
a lot of people couldn't deny blink 182 having an impact on them. i am actually not one of those people though...

and fight club? i mean its a good movie, i really enjoy it, but i wouldn't say it changed my life...maybe its because i got into palahniuk and vonnegut at the same time, but vonnegut's work makes everything palahniuk does look contrived.
canadapantsman
-Requiem for a Dream
i- loved fight club, but i agree about the life changing thing not really applying... at least to me
-The Wall is pretty epic and crazy
i know im forgetting a movie... o well on to music

props about teh Jane Doe. amazing song
pretty much anything Neurosis from souls at zero to through silver in blood
most Isis material
and the Translating the Name EP is amazing simply because it still is amazing. Those songs still havent gotten old and its been almost a year now since i got into that shizzle. the only other bands that can do that with me are Tool and Opeth
jono
Jane Doe
Translating The Name
White Pony
City Of Caterpillar

Saves the Day - Through Being Cool brings back alot of memories

adam.
Explosions in the Sky - Have You Passed Through This Night?
the build-up to the drum part at 3:09 just gets me. for me, it's comparable to waiting in the dressing room before i play hockey, which is one of my favourite feelings. getting anxious & stoked at the same time.
and then the build-up again at 5:30-6ish is the same feeling all over again.
canadapantsman
dude yes City of Caterpillar's self-titled (minus "fucking hero") has the best buildups ever

Taegukgi:The Brotherhood of War.
This is the best and saddest war movie I've ever seen. I almost cried at the end. Go check it out.
xXx Tears of a Phoenix xXx
changed my life? wow.

blink-182's enema of the state - i never listened to rockish music before this.
underoath's they're only chasing safety - first screaming i actually enjoyed

the most epic song for me is "they perched..." by saosin...the break/outro part is just crazy. also, the new "no angel" with cove has that same epicness in its break.

movie-wise...

eternal sunshine of the spotless mind was amazing but it didn't change my life. same goes for high fidelity. i'd have to say...

history of the world pt 1.
Lucas
im really surprised noone has said garden state. i wouldn't agree with it if they did, i'm just saying.

i know about 50 college girls who would disagree

i agree with you completely, still just saying...
Robert Hamburger
then it has to be true because college aged girls arent just one step above high school girls when it comes to "getting it"
xXx Tears of a Phoenix xXx
yeah but i just don't see how it can change someone's life. like...it doesn't exactly teach a lesson or anything. it's lightly comedic (actually, that flaming arrow scene had me laughing very hard) and is well-written...but it's not like epiphiany-inducing.

thrice's artist in the ambulance and the illusion of safety are also really epic.

oh and ^ your signature is hilarious.

Garden State is probably the lesser of the modern and popular indie movie trinity that seems to have set the rules for the future (the other two movies being Eternal Sunshine and I <3 Huckabees). Eternal Sunshine was the first one, and I saw it when I was a sophomore I think, and at that time in my life I was really looking for an explanation of the way my life has headed and I think that movie brought tremendous closure to all of my feelings.
Fight Club was just moving for me because it was the first violent or "potent" movie that I had ever seen that also had a unique idea attached to it. It came out when I was in 6th grade, I was very impressionable.

Also, the TTN EP is what I owe my present self to, it was this EP that broke me out of the radio and mainstream music, everything I am now started with that EP.

And every time I listen to TREOS now it seems to have an extreme impact on how I think. The lyrics and ideas behind each song are just so deep, and are starting to mean so much to me in this very transitional point of my life, similarly to how Blink and Box Car worked on me 4 years ago when I was just starting high school.
thisisyourtime
this armistice by the receiving end of sirens.

by the end of that song i feel fucking invincible for some odd reason.

the whole album "between the heart and the synapse" just blows my mind.
xXx Tears of a Phoenix xXx
i need to listen to that more. i don't know, maybe it just hasn't hit me yet.
