I'm going to see AFI at the Long Beach Arena in September. They're my favorite band, but the only tickets I could get were for the balcony. Does anyone know the best way to sneak into the pit? Anything anyone's used that's worked? I was thinking of just trying to bribe a security guard to let me in. What would be a good amount?
jammy.
I'm not sure if it's the same as the venue i've been to, but i know people who have had seating tickets and just tried going through the entrance to the standing area with their ticket, and just hoping for the best. most times security guards are foreign or just really lazy and so don't check the fine print properly where it states whether it's seating or standing.

But at this venue, do you have 2 separate lines for people with standing and people with seating?
youlovedave
Yeah, I think there's 2 seperate lines for pit and balcony. I've only been there once before
jammy.
It's a lot harder that way then.

Ebay?
Kid.
There are two lines. eBay's probably your best bet, seeing as how the amount of money you'd have to give to a security gaurd to get in would probably pay for the ticket, and be less of a hassle. I wouldn't risk the bribery in such a big venue; it'd probably just get you kicked out.

that place is chill, i had good times there at toc 2005

Who be that? I just remember that the person doing the merch was on a Sidekick, so I naturally assumed. wink.gif But that was definitely a good time. My first SaoShow.
sammy
ryan's in take the crown i believe?
that was a damn long time ago.
i just remember having fucking buddy from senses fail staring at me the entire time i was in their hangout room or whatevs. and they had like personal scene hair stylists with them.
Kid.
Ha I blocked out the memory of Senses Fail at that show. Worst fucking live show I've ever witnessed first-hand. Scene hair sylists though, that's cool right?

alright, heres the deal with long beach arena. they are way crazy with letting people into the floor area. but not becuase of them having 2 lines. the lines are separated so that the floor kids can get wristbands.

now for sneaking in. there are 2 ways in which i or people i know have been successful.

1. pay someone. this way however is way lame. at toc 05, i was on the floor, but some dumb girl i was with paid $100 to get on the floor for her wonderful burt mckracken. and then 3 other girls i met up with just flirted and got in. but i dont know if i can picture you doing that.

2. jump over the balcony. the jump is nerve racking im not gonna lie. its a good 10 feet. but when the lights go off it is a flawless plan. jump over and then run into the crowd. ive seen people do it successfully many times.

other than htat you can scalp a ticket outside cheaper than ebay. for tonites taking back sunday angels and airwaves show, scalpers were selkling floor tickets for 30.

on a side note, at the show tonite, guess who i bumped into?

beau and justin. i thought that was a strange show to run into them at, but whatevs.

Thanks, dude. You're ridiculously helpful. Thanks to everyone who participated in inputting suggestions. I'll either try to jump, but my girlfriend won't jump with me cuz she'd be too scared. So I'll probably get some scalped tickets. If nothing else, I guess it wouldn't be too bad to watch it from the balcony.

I've done this many times at a venue (large arena) by me. It was about ten feet too. Just make sure you land properly or you could do some nice damage to your ankles and knees.

last nite was the first time in the stands for me since limpbizkit when i was 13 and it wasnt as bad as i had expected. if you just wanna watch the show its not bad at all.
youlovedave
Well, it's my girlfriend's first AFI show, so I'd prefer her get the full experience by going in the pit. That's why I want them so bad.

You might be able to find some tickets there, if not you could make a request.
