well, i may be rushing it a tad, but everyone always asked "do you know what you wanna do when you grow up" and i always said "nope". now, im in 11th grade meaning i have less than 2 years to figure somethig out. Usually i wouldnt have a problem, but i have NO IDEAS! like, someone mentioned broadcasting. i guess its something i may consider but its not something i would wanna do for the rest of my life. my only intrest( that is education related) is computers. i can do basic HTML stuff and some ok flash stuff. nothing to intricate. i just cant picture myself sitting behind a desk all day typiung numbers and letters to make some program. so i come here for help. i guess just mention some things that you go for (if your in college) or just classes that may relate to broadcasting or computers. the reason for this post is bordum. thanks.

i'm in eleventh too. and basically, i'm leaning towards a major in english/creative writing.

outside of classes, outside of school.. that's where you need to live. personally, i think it's a waste of thousands of dollars to go into a college/university with no direction and majoring in something you are unsure about doing for the rest of your life. you should study what really interests you. i wish more kids would take a year off between high school and college. it does wonders.

she isnt at all. i posted in my thread to your college question. but seriously i took a year off and although i sometimes consider a change in my degree, that year off did a few things to me:

forced me to realize what i want in the end and how to get there, learned some new cool stuff (like my new love of modifying cars and building engines), and time to see my options. if you don't take a year off, this is what i would do; take all gen eds (general classes like math, science, etc. that would be good towards just about every major you pick) and take an elective or two in a field that interests you. ask around from other kids in certain majors and find what really really gets your attention. there is NOTHING wrong with graduation with your bach a semister or even a year later. id rather spend 5 years working on my major to spend 2, switch to a new major, and spend 4 more years starting over

i would listen to nadia. i was always planning to take a year off after high school and just live a little. but due to family pressure i decided to take some classes at a community college and it sucks. im undecided on what i want to be and im taking classes that dont mean crap. i can always stop going and get dropped but i dont want to waist my parents money. just be sure the decision you make is for your own good.

I'm going for a business major and a minor in info. tech.

But that's because I know where I want to be in my life by a certain point. And for me, this is the best way to do it because I've always been good with subjects relating to business.

What I REALLY want to do though, is go to the Art Center of Design in Pasadena. And take the "Transportation Design" courses, because I would like nothing better than to design and customize cars for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, that school is WAAAAAAAY expensive, and I wont be able to afford it.

I happen to be a computer science major. Don't do it unless you love computers and can stay sane sitting in front of them for hours at a time, because that will be your life. Half the people in my major from last year moved to other majors or dropped out. These were the people in your position that think they should try computer science because they know how to use comptuers. You also have to be good at math.
