Highly recommend this show, it has spawned a million jokes between my buddies and been a whole hell of a lot of fun to watch.
About a blood spatter expert that works for Miami PD, that's also a serial killer in his spare time. Vague description, but you'll have to watch it - it's based on the book "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" by Jeff Lindsay, and season 2 starts on the 30th but 2 episodes have leaked.
For people that are already fans, have you seen the two new episodes? Thoughts (try not to spoil, I've only seen the first one so far)? As of about episode 8 last season, Dex started turning into a massive pussy, I hope it doesn't continue.

Is season 1 on DVD? Does anyone know is Showtime actively pursues thsoe who donwload their shows like HBO does?

To bring it back, I'll tell you of my Dexter-dream from last night, where I was living with my dad, broseph, and current roommate/buddy. Unbeknownst to my pops, I was a serial killer (w/ the sometimes help of my buddy & bro), and at last count had killed over 300 women and stashed them into some weird converted beer cooler in the basement. One night while having a party, there was some particularly fresh cut up woman in the cooler, and I was freaking out about it because my pops was out at dinner and I thought someone might open the cooler...which they did, and then they called the cops.

...and then I woke up.

I rented the first 4 episodes today. I've watched the first 3, I really like the story their setting up so far. It's kind of funny that the guy who plays Dexter used to play a partially unstable and very gay man in Six Feet Under. He looks completely different in Dexter though, but whenever I hear him talk I can only think of his gay character since I used to watch Six Feet Under a lot.

this show is amazing.

second half of season one was disappointing... first half was awesome though

i just got my wisdom teeth out, and was super stoked to be watching the free season of dexter that showtime put on regular on-demand (though heavily edited) while on percosets, even though i had seen them already. just thought i'd share.

well after downloading the final two episodes, some good things happened!

Just finished season 2. It was a better ending than I had expected seeing as the beginning of the season started off really slow and lame.

and yeah, fuck Deb. She is a loud, overbearing horse face.

The thing about Dexter that I really like is that there is always closure at the end of the season. I can't stand the cliffhanger crap that Weeds pulls.

Well, with the end of the third season it seems like Weeds has stopped doing that, hopefully for good.

But yeah, this show is like crack. I'm halfway through the first season and i'm watching at least two episodes a day.

Almost finished with Dexter. Haven't watched the final episode yet. I've been a Dexter junky since the middle of the first season.

I recommend you all read the books as well. The second and third books are different from the show.

I'm reading the second book now. The first book is basically the same as the show except the ending is very very different from the ending in the show of the first season.

the last episode was soooo good.

Been a fan of this show since the first episode. I loved michael hall in six feet under, so i was pretty excited to see him in Dexter.

Ehh it was really weird at first for me to get used to Michael Hall, because I was so used to him being a pale flaming homo in 6 Feet Under, and now in Dexter he's a really tan badass, who is only semi homoerotic.

well, Six Feet Under probably had one of the best endings of any show i have ever seen. It definately struck a chord with me on an emotionally overwhelming level. But it gave closure, thats for sure.

Six Feet Under ending

Surprisingly Michael C. Hall hasn't done that much. Hes only come onto the sceen since 2003. I never watched six feet under but that ending was pretty intense. Hes movie "Game" is coming out in 2009. Should be cool?

soooo, Dexter just got picked up by CBS.

Its going to suck having commercials now....drag the episodes out to an hour in length.

I thought CBS was just going to be running edited reruns of season 1 and 2 or whatever.

Yeah, it's just season 1 reruns edited for time/content while the strike is still going on. Like what they did with Sex and the City on TBS, I guess.

There's no way in hell that Dexter would ever be on a prime-time network.

yeah they are cutting roughly 10 minutes out of each episode. Thats going to be interesting...

CBS doesn't even deserve to run the first season.

my favorite show. i've been re-watching season 1 the past two days.

i'm pretty late on this, partly because i'm in australia and the second season has only just started. few things to say....it's a fucking brilliant show, it's awesome. i don't know if everyone else feels this way but i hate every character on the show except for dexter, which is funny because he's a serial killer. i especially hate doakes.

rita is fine though, i thought she was hot the first time i saw her on roswell. she has a nice voice as well....tell you what, if she had a radio show with morgan freeman and daniel day lewis....i would listen to that show...a lot.
