i know one of the guitarists of this band too. he used to be the vocalist for the alexander set (the chariot wannabe band that i posted in the local music thread). i actually don't knoe if he's "in" the band, but he's having a trial period or something. he's not on their myspace though.

Today I got to stay on the clock at work while me and my friend went to Walmart to get fruit snacks. It was so badass, it took an hour to do that so it as worth the hell I went through there.

I've gots me another rant. Here we go.

The whole concept of quoting things in their entirety for pretty much no real reason is something that's been quite an irritation for me lately. I don't mind when people briefly quote a movie/song/thing during a conversation for a laugh, or when people stick a brief line of lyrics in their AIM profile or whatever.

The annoying part is when people quote an entire song's worth of lyrics in their away message or facebook or whatever. I mean, first off nobody has the attention span to read every single word. Second, the song probably sucks anyway. My biggest gripe though is that it just feels so redundant in doing so since without the music behind it, the words lose a lot of their meaning. Outside of certain badass songs that still kick tits with just the lyrics (like Killer Queen or something), you just totally end up bastardizing the song.

Additionally, it's pretty annoying when people quote movies over and over and over and over, for pretty much no reason whatsoever than to rev up a conversation, since they're too unoriginal to actually contribute an original thought. This is a big one, since everytime there's a new meme or hit movie, people keep quoting it like they're somehow channeling the actor/comedian/person in general. But you're not. This was especially annoying during the whole Borat era. I don't mind someone spitting out a quote of it once in a blue moon, but when every idiot is saying 'VERY NAICE' as a response to anything you say, you kind of want to pull your fingernails out.


All right, end of rant. Just felt like saying this since I'm incredibly bored in my post-Christmas Eve inactivity, and when I'm bored I tend to complain.
