well, specifically people who can draw and have read speaker for the dead/xenocide by orson scott card. i've been looking for someone who falls into both of these categories for a long time. i would love if someone would draw me a picture of a third life tree for a tattoo. it would need to be taller than it is wide because i want it on the back of my arm. other than that, i have some ideas, but id like to see what you see when you think about the tree first (if anyone has fucking read the book). anyone who would be willing to help me out, i would paypal you some money. thanks. pm, aim, etc.

Don't the third life trees look exactly like normal trees? Or are you talking about the mothertree?

well i guess they might look like normal trees...but in my mind, since they are on a different planet, they look somewhat alien. like deciduous, but with weird tropical(esque) colors. maybe like green and pink leaves. i dunno.
and i am not thinking of the mothertree, i might decide to put the word "human" on it somewhere (unless that is stupid)
and yes, sammy. that series is amazing.

Oh, right. I was just thinking that if the tattoo isn't just right, you'll most likely looking like some weirdo lumberjack.

Kudos on considering a tat based off of anything from the enders series. Amazing books. Own them all. Not a good artist though heh.

Is this off imagination, or do you have any picture references?

there are no illustrations in the book. i guess if no one has anything or wants to come up with anything, i'll just talk to the tattoo artist.
thinking about it. I have to keep a sketchbook (which i hate) but this will give me something decent to put in it. got some ideas for it, but it might be hard to make visually

is speaker for the dead any good? i loved ender's game but have avoided reading speaker for the dead because i figured it would just be the whole story from bean's perspective, and not as interesting
are there more books besides those two?
and anyone see this yet?
Ender's Game Moviei'm super excited

there are 8 main books so far (2 more are rumored, and there are a couple little fill in stories, etc), 4 in the ender quartet, 4 in the bean quartet.
the ender quartet is:
ender's game
speaker for the dead
xenocide
children of the mind
the bean quartet is:
ender's shadow
shadow of the hegemon
shadow pupppets
shadow of the giant
you got speaker for the dead confused with ender's shadow, which IS a parrallel novel to ender's game, but it's actually quite different than ender's game. the timelines of the two novels only partially coincide. speaker for the dead is actually about ender's life 3000 years in the future (because he travels at near light speed for long periods of time, he is only 25, but 3000 years have passed), as are the rest of his quartet. the bean quartet is about bean (and everyone else who returns to earth instead of going on a colony ship) and takes place immediately after the bugger wars end. i recommend reading the entire series.
also, the ender's game movie was announced years ago, but no one really knows whether anyone is actually working on it. it's so old in fact that they originally wanted haley joel osment to be ender.

There's also a videogame in production, focused on the Battle Room. Should be good shit.

I always wished they would make a real life Battle Room, somehow. Getting in some of the formations Ender made up would be so intense.
