I decided to make a thread where we can discuss anything Marvel related. You can post news about any new Marvel movies coming out or just talking about how your favorite character is more badass than Ant Man. Anything you would like to talk about, just say it here.

So exciting about the Avengers movie. It's gonna be awhile before it comes out, but it's still nice to know it's coming.
Ambush
First off, great thread.

Now with that off my chest, I want to ask how the new Hulk film was (sorry, I'm way too lazy to sift through the Last Movie thread). I realize Nikki's review is pretty current, however, I'd like to gather some more reviews.

I think the proper way to start off this topic is to reveal who your favorite hero (or villian) is and why. Why? See, then, we can diplomatically shit on each other's opinions about nerdy fiction. So much fun!!

I'll start off:

Favorites:

Cable
This guy can work a gun like a champ but can also fight without them. Has telekenetic and telepathic powers, blah blah blah. I really don't have any real reason that I like him but I remember Cable was by far one of my favorite action figures as a kid. Kind of ironic that I like him too because I think that Cyclops is a giant tool (for the non-comics out there, Cable is Cyclops' son from the future).

Havoc
He blasts shit with plasma and hates his brother Cyclops and how he always sucks his own cock by being the model X-Man. On another note, they need an X-Factor movie.

Iron Man
See: Iron Man movie. Tony Stark is a pimp.

Gambit
I realize that he kind of sucks as a superhero but I don't know--the idea the sitting on your ass and kinetically charging shit up and throwing it at people just sounds brilliant to me. Plus, he's suave, a playboy, and Cajun and I love Cajun food. I hear he's ready to appear in a movie soon (maybe the Wolverine movie?) so fucking hooray. About time.

Ugh, that's it for now.

Man, you totally just made a better introduction for this thread than I did haha.

I really can't say who's my favorite character. I like them all. I think Black Widow (Natalia Romanova) is amazing. I do love Spider-Man, but he's a favorite among alot of people. Nigthcrawler cause he's just funny and weird. I have to think about this some more than, but I can list people I hate.

Ant Man, Cannonball, Longshot, Morph (cause he's scary looking).

But honestly, I do hate Cable. Every since the game Marvel vs Capcom, people had this unknown love for him. And he was very cheap and I was tired of seeing him since everyone picked him. Bad reason, but it's my reason.

Carnage is one of my favourite bad guys, just because he's batshit crazy. The way he fights is just, awesome to me. I don't really have a favourite hero, but if it had to be anyone it would be Ultimate Iron Man, he deals with alot of self destruction that most of the other heroes don't. And plus, the armour is awesome as fuck.
john
Cable is pretty badass, kudos on that Jojo; Brian, you're crazy for thinking otherwise.

Carnage is pretty cool, but the whole Venom/Spiderman dynamic will always be my favorite just because of how awesomely it was pulled off in the beginning. I know Venom is the favorite of a lot of people, but I just love the duality he has with Spiderman, not to mention he looks pretty fucking cool. Plus the fact that when he and Spiderman first team up, Venom starts singing Frank Sinatra's "Strangers In The Night" as they swing through the city, which is, you know, just plain awesome.
mromight
Hawkeye better be in the Avengers movie, he's the most badass of all of them

Horrible reason to hate someone, man.

It's not like he was the Eddie Gordo of the game where you can just button mash your way to victory, was he? I only played the original Marvel vs. Capcom.

I really dislike Ultimate Iron Man. He gets blown and gets brought back to life? That's cool and all, but I'm so used to him being a human and not a mutant. Plus, 616 IM has better armour. Hulk Buster ftw.

Haha, yeah I'm crazy. I really don't like Cable or his diversity twin, Bishop. You also wanna know why Carnage is cool?

Aside from Uncle Ben, nobody ever stays dead in the Marvel universe.

He was an Eddie Gordo character. Not really button mash, but still cheap. Walk into an arcade with MvC2 there. The only thing you'll hear is
*bang bang bang bang bang*..."viper beam"...."hyper viper beam".....than it repeats.

Hawkeye is not dead anymore. He is in the New Avengers now as Ronin.

Definitely completely agree with shane. Wolverine, carnage and venom are the top dogs, but I also gotta throw in Punisher.

Other than that: Gambit, Night Crawler, and Pyro (because their the shit, and they have the powers I really wish I had.)
adam.
Archie vs. Punisher

best cross-over ever.

other than that, you guys are nerds.
Ambush
*casts amnesia on Adam through level 5 telepathetic powers and brainwashes him to hit on men.*
B-ryon
carnage is a badass because the super nintendo game based around him came on a red cartridge
mattsexx
Tony Stark is the biggest badasss cuz he launched a satelite and erassed everybody's minds to make them forget that he was Ironman

Just reading that reminds me that Overpower was (to me) the best card game ever. I really wish it was still around. I had a badass team. Jubilee, Psylock, Hobgoblin, and Mr. Sinister on reserve. You should only know what I'm talking if you're familiar with the game.

Haha, Maximum Carnage was an awesome game. It was also an awesome series cause it wasn't confusing has hell like the other Marvel series (House of M, I'm looking at you). Separation Anxiety was an awesome sequel cause it was 2 players. I think I'll play some right now.
FUBAR
Carnage and Venom are my two favorite Marvel characters ever.

EDIT:: Which is another reason I absolutely hated everything about Spiderman 3.
john
Yeah I got really excited when I heard they cast Thomas Haden Church, since he seemed like a pretty perfect Eddie Brock, but then it turned out Eric Forman was Venom. That still stings a little to this day.
FUBAR
Seriously, I'm such a huge Venom fan that they could have ruined the whole movie (which they did), but if Venom was awesome I would have still enjoyed the film. (but he wasn't)
johnyrocket
They also contradicted the story line by having him as a "new" photographer, because they mention him as a Daily Bugle employee in the first movie..
It wouldn't have been that much work to write the story with him already working there and not further ruin the series' integrity.

i actually think all the X-Men future stuff is really interesting, but i've never bothered to take the time to read the comics...

and i'm still pissed that i never saw the last couple episodes of the (1990's) animated spider-man series, anyone know where i could watch/download the last season/episodes?

I downloaded all the 90's series cartoon via torrents and burned them to DVDs. Not exactly sure which site... it was like 2 years ago.

I honestly didn't mind Topher Grace as Eddie Brock. I thought he did a nice job. Plus, most of the Marvel movies seem to be more Ultimate than 616 and Ultimate Eddie is a skinny nerdy kid like Petter. And when it comes to 616 Eddie, I thought wrestler Brock Lesner would of been perfect.

I played it once and got my ass handed to me by my friend. Seems cool, but I feel I can't play it since I'll be starting late. I feel I had to start when the game first came out so I'll have a average amount of characters. But to me, nothing beats Overpower.

Isn't DD vs Spider-Man an episode from the animated series? Well the only way you can get a complete dvd set of X-Men and Spider-Man, it's gonna have to be a bootleg copy since Marvel hasn't released them officially. The only thing they have released are certain stand alone episodes.

The Wolverine movie looks to be pretty damn amazing. Apparently the last twenty minutes or so of the movie are just this epic fight between Wolverine and Weapon XI (Wolverine is Weapon X, of course). I have no clue what Weapon XI will be like, but it can't possibly not be awesome.

So whats the Wolverine movie about anyways? Just his life. Like joining the military and helping Captain America and stopping the Hulk/Wendigo brawl? Or later when Magneto removes the adamantium from his skeleton and he goes out on his own and eventually gets kidnapped by Genesis and generates into a crazy beast like person and then is healed by Apocalypse? Or all of it? Or just a whole new story later.
Bobby
I think it's about his "beginnings." I'm not too sure what that means since I've never been into his story.

If you look this stuff up (X-Men, specifically) on wikipedia, theres actually ridiculously intricate plot descriptions. I was bored one day and I checked out Wolverine's page and actually spent a decent amount of time reading up on stuff. Apparently Wolverine's series is still running, and they still haven't revealed everything about him.

I think the reason why people love Wolverine soo much is the fact he's a badass and a mysterious person. I do know that the wiki page of him probably has hours and hours of information to be read. Only thing I know, Wolverine has some badass enemies.
