the winter solstice. December 21, 2012. the sun rises at the dark rift of the milkey way. this happens once ever 25,800 years. in the last 5 years it has been determined that there is a black hole in the center of the dark rift. this alignment could be like crossing a galactic equator which could cause a polar shift... which would result in world wide disaster. this date has been predicted by the mayans, the i ching, the bible, nastrodamus, even that stupid web-bot software... doomed? possibly.

lets talk.

*i know not a great start... but the ball should get rolling fast enough.

i would think that you would want it later rather than sooner, considering you're going straight to hell. i mean honestly, what could the end of the world mean for you?
fuse
It's all horse shit.

I laughed at (Hubert Cumberdale)'s comment.
paige is a hosebeast
ok so it's not nearly the same magnitude as this but remember when the whole Y2K thing was supposed to be disastrous and then nothing happened at all? so anticlimactic.

i'm not hoping for the world to end on 12/21/2012, but something exciting better happen that day. i dont want another let down like on 01/01/00
Chad Gilbert
There's a lot of stuff going on in 2012, but I don't believe it is the end of the world. The thing everyone talks about with this date is the mayan calendar ending, but what none of those people realize is that the mayans barely even mentioned anything special about this date - they saw their calendar ending, but then just starting over again without any disaster.

As far as all the astronomical stuff, it is an interesting coincidence that a lot of things fall around this date, but i don't think anything drastic is going to happen either. A lot of people thought that the whole particle accelerator thing being turned on this past august was going to end the world but obviously that didn't happen.
daniel.
fuck that, i want to grow up and have a family. but it's pretty scary stuff. i'm hoping nothing will happen.
Chad Gilbert
yeah. i'm not afraid of the world ending, but the thought of not being able to fully experience life doesn't sit well with me. that's pretty selfish, but oh well.

I feel like when Bryan thinks about Paige, he subconsciously plays "I Touch Myself" as theme music in his head.

Prettier in Plaid
01/2001 when the actual new mellenia started. I guess that's just semantics though.

"This event is said to cause numerous earth changes, however that is not possible considering that the event is only a visual phenomenon from the earths perspective, which is caused by the precession of the equinoxes or the 26,000 year wobble of the earth, which only changes our perspective, not the actual position of the earth in relation to the galaxy. In short, there is no gravitational force or radiation to be expected from this event because other than the tilt of the earth, nothing will be any different than any other solstice. "

I think its funny actually..reminds me of this chupacabra shit they worry about in the dominican republic. My aunts and uncles are terrified of leaving their livestock out like that lol.

Prettier in Plaid
False, you had the photo of you with your head down (textbook emo photo) wearing the scarf after I had been here and already risen from obscurity. I joined in '04.

Oopsies.
mark.
Ok sorry, I was a year off. Hahaha. It's cool though. That scarf kept me pretty fucking warm in the shitty PA winter.
Prettier in Plaid
I love a scarf in cold weather.

Shit. The world's gotta end somehow. It would suck for life to end abruptly, but it would be exciting to be there to witness it. Our lives are so unimportant and nominal anyway.
