I love GOOD Pop punk. How were all the videos you watched the other day sammy? Any bands stick out?

Yea sorry. Out of it. Definitely agree its throw away music. The only good thing about Hey Monday is shes got perfect teeth and is nice to look at. The music...definitely agree is meh.

i can't really get into fireworks or the wonder years but i like set your goals and people that are into pop punk on this board seem to be into
title fight too, they're really good.

just found out such gold is playing my new town in a couple weeks, with set your goals, four year strong, and fireworks. maybe i'll go. bunch of shitty local bands though.

probably a bunch of weirdo kids as well.

Took a listen to All Time Low's Nothing Personal album. Won't lie, catchy as hell and pretty good. Id say this album will do for them what Riot did for Paramore.

Used to be all about these guys back in the day. They broke up like 6 years ago and pretty much re-formed as The Reason.

this pop punk movement is very much like the emo movement of the mid to late 90's and the post hardcore movement of the early 2000's.

i find most pop punk nowadays to be so generic and rehashed...my girlfriend made me listen to we the kings and there is absolutely nothing on their album that some other pop punk band hasn't already done. i was so bored listening to them, they have no originality whatsoever...

i'd probably guess that he means there are a couple of bands that are actually innovative in creating their own division of punk rock music, and now one or two years later there are literally hundreds of bands trying to emulate it, add on to it, and in doing so are shoving it's dick in the dirt until it dies of oxygen and cums out screams of pain.

except the one or two bands haven't done anything new, they've just basically re-done new found glory's example of power pop combined with Gorilla Biscuits and Youth of Today.

I have to admit I was gung ho about this for a while, but I can't see it now.

well there is this surge of hardcore pop punk bands in the underground. A few are starting to make it, but most are just signed to a bunch of no name labels. The shows are basically in really small venues and basements. All the fans are late teenagers. I mean the same damn thing happened back in the mid to late 90's with bands like texas is the reason and the promise ring, and it also happened in the early 2000's with thursday and bands like them. Soon enough this genre is going to become worse than the over saturation of post hardcore music. This is the new thing and in 3 or 4 years there will be another genre of music to take over the underground for teenagers.


i like the jonas brothers. so fuck you.

then i'm glad i can be a part of something before it sucks.

Though bad move on Taylors part by having Miley Cyrus perform with her at the Grammys. God Miley sounded awful and ruined the song. You could see it in Taylors face that it was a bad move.

Haha that's awesome. They were one of my favorite bands in high school, and I still think their discography is better than a lot of stuff being put out today.

kyle and ready better prepare to clean their britches. 2 of the other branson guys and I are doing a pop punk power trio side project. We have already written 3 songs between today and yesterday, and let me tell you, they are catchy as fuck. I am working on finishing up the ballad.

edit: we are thinking of naming it "From the makers of Branson" or something along those lines. something really gay.
