Well, after the horrible derailment of the last thread I tried making, I figured I'd try for a more all-purpose thread. Basically, this topic is just posting some interesting insight or something interesting that struck you today, or even just something intriguing you found online that made you think for a little bit. No Sartre-level crap, please, keep it relatively simple. And its inevitable that some dumb people will post dumb stuff, in which case I hope you burn in hell. Go!
Anyway, I realized today after being back in Boston for a month that where you live really defines a huge chunk of who you are as a person, maybe even an uncomfortably large one if I may say so. After living in Korea the entire summer and then staying in New York for a decent chunk of time before coming back to school, its interesting how the general background 'hum' of your life can really affect so much of your mood or the types of thoughts you have in a day. Eventually, I'm going to have to ask myself honestly what parts of the background consciousness are worth changing to decide where i want to live when I finish college, since it'll end up influencing so much of my creativity and drive.
Also, I read online today that most Americans can't instantly name whose face is on the dime, and well I couldn't figure it out for a good forty seconds. And no it's obviously not Jefferson.
Edit: Also, this is distinctly different (and more expansive imo) from the 'I've come to realize' thread, so yeah.

That dime thing is interesting. I couldn't think of who it was until I found an actual dime.

I don't know where to post random cool shit I find that deserves more than the random thread, so here ya go.
http://www.ted.com/talks/eric_giler_demos_...lectricity.htmlThey've created wireless electricity, and they show it powering on a TV and multiple cellphones. This has always been my dream to figure out, I can't wait until it becomes a marketable product.

Mike's link is a step in that direction. Fully wireless is probably only 2-4 years out. But I'm not sure if I should worry about all that electricity floating around...don't they say that living under powerlines is bad?

I kinda like 'invented' that in year five. We had to think of a new invention, I created wireless powerlines lol. Ever since I've always thought that I'd like to actually invent it, much like you...

Speaking of technological advances, I've recently indulged in buying an electronic cigarette.
http://www.blucigs.com/products.phpI bought the starter pack with the black colored cig. This should definitely help in my quest to quit smoking (I hope).

I thought this was pretty interesting:
http://little-people.blogspot.com/Basically scroll down slowly for each set of three pictures. For me personally it was intriguing to feel the 'sense of place' being messed with, as it were.

That is fucking sweet dude. I loved the "wonderland" one which looked like they were in snow. Very creative.
http://nextbigfuture.com/2009/11/biodegrad...uld-enable.htmlLED tattoos? Sci-fi is slowly becoming a reality, these silk sheets aren't just limited to a few transistors either. If this technology really takes off, people will be packing these sheets with as much as possible. Cool shit haha makes me excited for the future.

learned to be nice to everyone, or you will eternally feel like a mean person and never know what to do to be equal? to be a good person? you'll just keep hurting people and feel it's your fault?

Today I stumbled upon what is undoubtedly, the creepiest DevianArt

As if having a feet-tickling fetish wasn't weird enough
