Oh man, same with Rush Hour 3.
Brett Ratner did a decent job with X3 (he's no Singer), and I liked Red Dragon and The Family Man, but his other work is pretty bad.
His new one will be no exception.

Trust me. I could go on and on about all the complaints I had with the film. I hated it after I first saw it. Got it on DVD and it grew a bit better.
They really butchered it though. I agree.
Superman Returns had more heart put in to it then all of the X-Men films combined, yet got slaughtered by audiences, a good portion of critics (despite its critical consensus), and box office...
Long live Superman.

I loved it. I dont really see how it's boring. It's not all about blowing stuff up and fighting people.
And... GRINDHOUSE, Friday. I'm getting more pumped than I ever was.

I thought the story was boring and he's fucking Superman. It should be about using his great strengths and awesome powers, but he mostly just got owned the entire time.

I was pissed because when I saw Superman Returns, I was a little too drunk (we have bars at our theaters) so I tried to not break the seal but of course, had to at one point. So I ended up going to the restroom but by the time I got back, the credits were rolling. I still don't know how it ended. Not really sweatin' it though because I didn't think it was that awesome either.

I can't wait until I get some respect on my film taste to get that type of response!
But yeah, I loved it.
I had one major issue with it but I won't go into with people not having seen it and all... And yes, Singer is working on his WWII film, and Superman will began filming in 2008 like it was planned. 2009 has always been the release date.
2007. Spider-Man 3
2008. The Dark Knight
2009. Superman

They can't just restart it after they restarted it... Ha, that makes no sense.
New stuff keeps building because of this supposed Justice League film NOT featuring Brandon Routh... He was really good, I thought.
Reeve was amazing as Clark Kent, but I think Routh held his own on both departments, especially Superman.
definately. justice league movies sounds fucking stupid anyways.

I think it was said somewhere in this thread that the director for films 1-3 wouldnt be back for a 4th. Does this mean the series is over?
Personally I really enjoyed the 3rd. I read in a magazine that its production wasnt going well at all, alot of last minute script changes and such. Plus it was a little iffy to introduce the idea of the sentinel at the begining of the movie when it had nothing to do with it. But yeh, all in all a good flick.

Mr. Brooks and 1408 look pretty good. But I dunno if Dane Cook will just ruin Mr. Brooks or not. And 1408 should be scary as hell, copnsidering its Stephen King.

The first two movies were dierected by Bryan Singer; the third was directed by Brett Ratner. I don't know where they went wrong, but I just thought that movie was really sloppy. Like the sentinel scene, which you pointed out had no connection to the rest of the movie, where Wolverine just magically appeared from behind the head. The whole thing was just a mess.

Apr 5 2007, 01:17 PM
I think the whole thing would go better if they just kept the story lines from the comic/ series. I guess its more exiting to the hardcore x-men fans to have new story ideas for the movies, but at the same time I cant help thinking to myself "thats not the way it fucking happens, did this guy even read comics?"
Kid.
Apr 5 2007, 06:06 PM
I get what you're saying, but a lot of the shit in the comics is way to far-fetched, and wouldn't translate well onto film.

Apparently Robert Rodriguez said in a recent interview that Sin City 2 would probably start filming in June. He also said that after the sequel, the franchise would probably be continued through some sort of television series. Surprising, but interesting.

Rob Zombie's Halloween trailer. Judging by this, it looks pretty fucking promising. Surprising, but welcome. Definitely seeing this. And I'm also really liking the direction Rob's taking this as far as giving Michael some humanity goes. It's a good twist on the original story.

I saw the preview tonight in theatres, and i have to say i'm thinking the opposite. It looks just like another gorefest with no real suspense, just some annoying looking kid with aaron gillespie's haircut.
