anyways, my reason for me mentioning Star Wars was because the original trilogy is so amazing and 10 times less boring than LOTR, and i dunno, i just annoys me how people act like LOTR is so much better. 10 years from now the balance will be correct again, and Star Wars will be the better trilogy once again.

personally, i think this movie looks fucking stupid as hell, and id rather sit through Return of the Kind Directors Cut (and its good 1 and a half -2 hours that should be taken out). Once Peter Jackson started doing this pseudo-epic lengthy films i lost all respect for him. id rather watch his old fucking weird shit.
LOTR owns star wars. better acting and story line (although PJ didn't create the story line). star wars is a cult classic but holy shit after re-watching them... they suck dick.

LOTR is the second most read book EVER. First place is the bible. I bet you can add every Star Wars book ever written together and they would not even equal the total read of LOTR. Statistics show what is more popular. And popularity shows what is a better story.

and LOTR are not the second most read. probably top 5, but the Bible is second most read, the Diary of Anne Frank is the first.

wrong, but LOTR isn't on the top ten list either
Top Ten ListAnother ListList from GoogleAll three lists are basically the same. And many people say that LOTR is not on the top ten because it is split up into three books. So if those were tallied up it is possible that it could be on there.
And to even think that The Diary of Anne Frank outbeats the bible is just asinine.

What a ridiculous argument.
First lets see the valid points Zombie Stephen brings to the table:
-original trilogy is "so amazing"
-10 times less boring then lord of the rings
-is annoyed because people act like LOTR is better, so has a personal bias (which really doesnt negate this whole argument does it?! *jerking off motion*)
-better story line
-is talking about the films, not the books (valid point because star wars didnt start off as a literary work...SO WHAT ELSE WOULD WE BE FUCKING COMPARING? APPLES AND ORANGES? TRANSFORMERS AND GUNDAMS. praise the fucking lord were dealing with a genius.)
-is 6 ft tall
-Anne Frank is the first most read book of all time.
So let me back this up a little bit, before you totally lost me with the Anne Frank RANDOM FACTOID YOU INVENTED IN YOUR SPHINCTER...
You start almost a two page argument about Star Wars, and all you can say about it is that is "so amazing" and "not as boring as the LOTR". Wow such indepth analysis and terrific examples, facts, or even tidbits that would lead us to believe you even watched the movie. This has to be the worst stance in an argument I have ever read.
Do you like Star Wars better because it has some sweet robots? Look down upon LOTR because the Uruk Hai didnt have hydrolic movements and fire rockets?
Please please please post more ridiculous statements and then cap them off with ridiculous pictures of yourself. It might sound sad, but if you did that, I would feel so much better about myself because I could visualize the exact opposite of what I am. I am not a sniveling, ignorant loser, who plays with robots. Please please pleaseeeeeee.

This movie looks awesome. It's Darren Aronofsky's new movie (Reqiuem for a Dream, Pi). It orginally had Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett attached to it but they dropped and the budget decreased over time. Anyways here is a summary from IMBD boards:
"Spanning over one thousand years, and three parallel stories, The Fountain is a story of love, death, spirituality, and the fragility of our existence in this world."
Here is the trailer.
I can't wait.

I only said it decreased because it did, from 70 million to something like 35-40, which is quite a lot. I agree with you that it is huge compared to his previous films.
The silence and no annoying voiceovers are very good moves. I've read a lot of reviews of the trailer with people who just saw it without ever hearing of the move beforehand and are now hooked. It was very well done. I also think that the silence comes from the fact that that are still composing music for it and Aronofsky said he just threw it together and convinced Warner Bros. to release it.
And those are the best scenes in the trailer, along with him walking on the water towards the tree. If you look at the spaceship shot, you can see the tree in there, the main symbol of the film.
