Snatch was hilarious, and I cannot wait for RocknRolla. Too bad Jason Statham isn't in it though...
I might watch Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels tonight.

Seven Pounds looks good. Will Smith makes everything that much better....
Will Smith>Don Cheadle>Terrence Howard
will smith is a decent actor but he has a habit of turning really interesting books into really bland mindless action movies.

That movie's been in development hell for years now. They've done reshoots, changed storylines, and now the rumors are that it's pretty much back to its original state. I hope it's decent. I'll probably just wait to Netflix it.
And of course I can't come into this thread without bringing up Watchmen. Again. New production diary today, focusing on Silk Spectre I and II. Which means Carla Gugino is involved, which means my pants are fitting tighter. There's some new footage, and it's still looking pretty goddamn great to me. March can't get here soon enough. Old-ass news.
And it doesn't make him a douche. Try adapting one of the denser graphic novels of our generation into a big budget feature-length film at a major studio with dickhole execs breathing down your neck because they don't get it, and see if you can get away without making any changes.
And he's said the ending will still be thematically the same. Don't be a fanboy wanker crying over a squid.

I understand there are difficulties adapting books into films. Leaving certain things out--changing costumes slightly--that's one thing....changing the climax of the entire story is something different.
I don't even really care about the movie so much, it only bugs me that Snyder went on and on
about staying true to the book (after Alan Moore said he didn't want anything to do with the film, saying they'd screw with the story HE wrote, just like all the other adaptations of his stories).
I understand this book is hard as hell to adapt, especially because of the additional material
at the end of each chapter. It just saddens me that Zack proved Moore right.
Not saying Zack is the one who chose to leave out the ending (don't want to spoil) but he is
overseeing the whole operation.

Just want to point out that a.) That was an unexpectedly intelligent and well thought out post by Gabriel, and 2.) inevitably it's kind of useless to speculate on what happened with what since nobody aside from Snyder and the higher ups will ever know the real truth, so what I'm personally going to do is watch the movie without having my mind stewing on all this controversy and enjoy it based on its own merits, of which I'm sure there'll be many.

I think it's a bit premature to make claims like that. And for the record, Moore showed the most love for a Watchmen script that took place in the modern day and had a different ending from the graphic novel. He said that script "got Watchmen," so I think he's more concerned with not losing the central themes and conflicts.
