oh i have a pair of those. i love them and they've actually held up very well for being 3 years old.

what is wrong with slip-ons in your opinion?

the checkered white/black ones, to me, look absolutely fucking ridiculous. the other ones look pretty stupid too, but i REALLY hate the checkered ones.

to me, these shoes serve no purpose, make the wearer's legs look unflattering, and IMO "slip-ons" should only be worn by old men or retarded people.

plus the people wearing them usually have the other wardrobe ingredients that grind my gears too. so its a vicious cycle of annoyances.

there was a guy with tourettes syndrome in my brother's german class last year at a&m. one day when my brother (wearing the checkered slipons) was turning in his test at the front of the class, the guy yelled out "your shoes make me want to finish the race!". and my brother was really embarrassed.

thats what im trying to say, if you wear checkered vans cause you really like them and they look good on you, then more power to you, but a lot of people look stupid trying to make some fashions work when they are in style, and they fall flat.

my vans aren't checkered but i think they look great and i've been wearing them for years and will continue wearing them until i'm sick of them which won't happen for a long time.
