"I was at Chaosfest tonight in Menomonee Falls, WI. It was an amazing show in regards to who I was looking forward to seeing. Paige Marshall, Farwell to Twilight, and Circle Takes the Square were all amazing. From a Second Story Window was headlining, and started up with their fist song, and were blowing me away. I had used up a roll of film on CTTS’s set, and was taking some shots of FASSW set then. However, they didn’t even get to finish their first song. The members of Blood In/Blood Out, along with their other Chicago buddies, charged the stage and started beating the shit out of FASSW and ruining their equiptment. I heard one of the
BI/BO guys shout “don’t fuck with Chicago”. There is obviously some conflict b/w the two bands, which is still somewhat unclear to me, though I got a slight understanding, but FASSW are really good guys. I just really hate this tuff-guy mentality of music.
In the brawl, I think I got it worst out of everyone. When they charged the stage, I was in the middle of it because I was still on stage snapping photos. I was keeping their guitarist’s (he is fucking amazing too) amp from being tipped over, but eventually they did get it. In the mix of things, I had dropped my camera. One of the BI/BO guys took the low tom drum of FASSW’s kit and raised it over their head and smashed it over mine. I saved my camera luckily, and got off the stage and out of the fighting. I didn’t know how bad I was bleeding at first, and had just stormed out really frustrated with everything. My entire face was covered in blood I realized….people were speechless I guess. It was really bad. It’s about 3 hours later since it happened now, and it still doesn’t hurt. I’m sure it will in the morning, but I still feel the adrenaline right now. I have longer hair, so it was hard to trace right to the gash and look at it. I should have gone to the hospital, but cleaned up, got it to stop bleeding, and then iced it. When I got home, I was taking a look at it in the mirror. The cut is ¼ - 1/8 inch deep, and about 1-2 inches long in a “y” shape. It is directly above my left eyebrow, approximately an inch back from the hairline. I put rubbing alcohol and then Neosporin on it. I think it’s quite dumb that people even do stuff like that at all. I’m not mad at anyone, though I suppose I may be later, and have all the right to be. I am just too cheerful and optimistic I guess. I just don’t understand what pushes people to be so aggressively violent. I hate violence. BI/BO practically ruined all of their equiptment in the midst of just beating the shit out of all of them, and for what?! I was talking to the guys in FASSW after it all, and they are alright from what I could tell. BI/BO took off right away, and had smashed FASSW’s van’s windshield.
My FBF shirt was soaked in blood too. I was in the bathroom wiping my face up, and stopping it form bleeding, when a guy wandered in. He went right to the stall and threw up. The Orchard Inn is a bar too, so he was obviously a little under the weather. When he got up though, he came and talked to me. I guess he owned the place and was really nice about making sure I was alright and seeing if I needed anything. He got me some ice to numb my head with. There was no police involved in the situation. I didn’t see how the fight itself ended, but I saw the chaos (no pun intended) of what was left afterwards. I have never seen anything like this. I caught bits and pieces of the entire situation, and why it went down. Does anybody know anything about the FSU, and can tell me about it? I don’t mean Florida State University. I believe that was the acronym I heard used by the guys in FASSW. I was hearing that BI/BO are part of that, and b/c of that, FASSW would be screwed if they took legal action, for their safety, as well as losing chances to play in many major cities. I don’t know what exactly FSU is or what sort of power they have on such things. Again, help me out if you can on this. I’m on quite a ramble right now, but I really want to hear some input on what people think about any of this."

my good friend, Joey B, got jumped outside an armor show the other day.

"Last night outside of Club Tundra in Syracuse, NY our good friend, tech and videographer, Joey B was jumped by some thugs. He was punched in the face several times while the assailant demanded his wallet and sidekick. After hitting Joey B and taking what he could the guy jumped into a car that was full of other people. The police were called but no one had been able to get the plate's on the car. Since the incident occurred last night around midnight Joey has been sitting in the emergency room and then all of this morning in an oral surgeons office waiting to see how to repair his broken jaw."

Something similar to this happened when Unearth toured with Terror. Here is that story. It's really long.


"I'm not making fun of the idiots in girl's pants, the fauxhawks, or the myspace fad, I am addressing a serious fucking problem with the music scene. I can tolerate the shit above, as most others can, but I cannot, and WILL NOT tolerate the bullshit I, as well as many others, went through last night.

Last night I went to the Unearth / TBDM / Remembering Never / If Hope Dies / Terror show. It was in the shittiest neighborhood, and even the bands joked around with comments like "Thanks for coming and thanks for not getting shot." I was offered cocaine 3 times while putting up the tour posters.

But anyhow, to the point.

First 3 bands go on, no problems. Terror takes the stage. Me and my friend clear out of the pit because there's some awfully large guys walkin in circles all the sudden, sportin "FSU" logos, and very very large krew in NJ.

First song, 30 seconds in, fight breaks out when an FSU kid hits a kid in his metal-goth getup. The kid hits him back and gets jumped by 5 of the krew members. One of the kids climbs up on a railing and does a top-rope body slam on the kid while security is trying to yank these kids off. Security finally breaks up the fight and Terror is allowed to play again. The singer urges everyone to chill the fuck out and to quit with the bullshit.

One song passes, nothing big happens.

Next song: I'm over by the merch tables, nowhere near the circle pit or near the wall at all. I'm up a step and behing a railing. Kid in a black tanktop strolls up next to me, hauls off and decks me in the face. I go "what the fuck?!" and he follows up with another punch to my face. He grazes my hand and two of my fingers snap. My friend runs over and gets one good punch in on him before getting tackled by 3 others. I get tackled by 3 other people and they start wailing on me. Luckily I was able to get on my knees and cover up so they could hit my head besides my neck and my back. 30 seconds of takin this beating I feel them get lifted off me because security finally makes its way over to us and some of the crowd helped grab them off us. I look up and my friend is in front of me bleeding like a stuck pig out of his already swollen eye. His glasses were crushed too. Next to us, one of the kids who was goin after me and my friend Adam grabs another kid by the throat and starts with him. His dad is there, steps in and punches the FSU-fuck in the face. This guy gets jumped by NINE FSU members. By the time security gets them all off of him, he is motionless on the ground, lying in the largest pool of blood I have ever seen. ambulances arrive and cart him out on a stretcher.

Terror is asked to stop playing so they pack up and go outside. They had no problem with this. As me and my friend are walking to the front door another 20 FSU members walk up to the guy runnin the club. "Either you bring Terror back on, or we will shut this place down for good." Theyre all leaning over this poor guy. Security comes sprinting in, because theyre about to hit him. Cops pull up, kids see the lights in the doorway, and take off their hats and shirts which identify them as "FSU" members. Fuckin pussies, fight in groups and jump people, then run away when it comes time to facing any kind of real authority. Real tough guys.

Me and my friend head to the back where there are 3 or 4 ambulances helping treat people are who broken and bleeding. The kid who was involved in the first fight is still outside, being bagged because he is not breathing. It was a horrible site. He was covered in blood, and not breathing. But he started gasping for air which was a relief to everyone. The dad who got trampled next to us ended up with a broken nose and cuts all over his face that just would not stop bleeding. His son was upset as hell.

Everyone is filtering out of the club, they want nothing more to do with this group who ran away. the show is cancelled. unearth never gets to play. everyone is pissed.

I am sitting here typing minus 2 functional and unbroken fingers, a completely swollen and bruised left side of my face, my right hand is swollen from being punched so many times, and my next is swollen from being pummeled from behind by 3 people.

Now, why in the fuck do these Krews exist? They do nothing but ruin music for people who want to go and enjoy shows. If you wanna fight someone, do it with people who know you're going to fight them, and do it 1-on-fucking-1. 4-on-1 gang-ups really make you look big and tough. roughly 50 members of FSU were there yesterday I've been told by people who know this group. And apparently the lead singer of Terror was in or is still in this krew and that's why they showed up last night. I have never seen these kids before, but now I no longer wonder why people go on murdering sprees. I couldnt imagine anything that would make me more happy then putting a bullet in each one of those kids heads. I would settle for broken kneecaps, I guess, as long as I was the one swingin the bat. I am not a violent person, but people like this just ruin everything for everyone. What does jumping random people accomplish? Don't think I will try any of this, I am venting anyway I can.

It's fuckin retarded, and so are the people who support this kind of bullshit krew garbage. Krews are nothing but gangs for assholes who only start shit in clubs. Music is not an excuse to be an asshole."

yeah, i think i remember reading about that.
i live in jersey, and i can't count how many shows i've been to that have ended in huge fights due to fsu. the shows here have gotten really sad. it seems like the kids don't really appreciate the music. it's either a tough guy contest or a fashion show, now. (depending on what kind of shows you go to)

this is shitty. Derek is the nicest guy ever. FASSW stayed at my house once after we played a show. Those guys were soo fucking chill and they were so stoked to see orange trees in my back yard.

As far as FSU goes. i'm friends with a lot of them...i'm not part of it. but they can be some nice guys. I hear, that the east coast FSU is worse than the west.

so for those of you who saw the video before the link went down, the clip at the start of the singer accidently knocking a ceiling tile off the roof started all this.
